I am not doing the food justice or describing the food with the terms with which each course was introduced. All were amazing! Dinner was a choice of steak or chicken topped with the Chef's special sauce with potatoes and green beans with a pear cheesecake all created by the amazing chef with such care. Afternoon snack was an assortment of Gingerspice cookies, cranberry biscotti and hot chocolate pudding with mini marshmallows in a crust. Breakfast included pumpkin spice pancakes, sausage and fruit lunch was a choice of either a turkey or ham pannini with butternut acorn squash soup and a brownie. Our meals were prepared for us around our schedule and were delicious. The Lodge was decorated for Christmas and full of cheer. Matt and Laura, the owners, greeted our group with a warm and inviting welcome, even though our caravan of 3 cars arrived at different times in the evening. I stayed at the Cedar Crest Lodge with a group of 11 women this past weekend and had the most relaxing, rejuvenating, and awesome experience. While I could go on and on, suffice it to say, we will go back to celebrate our 30th.that's the plan! The anniversary 'cake' took 2 days to finish, but with the small 'fridge' in the room, it kept well. It was served in stages, quietly brought to us and served with pride. We were served our anniversary dinner in our room (our choice). The ground are impeccable, the staff is friendly and helpful, the owners are available and the views are awesome. It's a place where you can just absorb your surroundings (beautiful) and spend time reflecting, reading or, like me, taking pictures.there is plenty of space to do all the above. From watching the staff pick the veggies that will turn up on our dinner plates later in the day, to the awesome 'spa' experience in the dedicated spa area.we could not have chosen better. This family owned, and run, B&B is the best we've ever experienced. Our 29th anniversary in September of 2015.still holds the best memories of the whole year! When at least once a week since then we talk about going back, or something special about that weekend, it is clear Cedar Crest made an indelible mark on our travel experiences.
